The Northern Lights of Norway
These images are from two very talented Norwegian photographers: Ole C. Salomonsen and Øystein Lunde Ingvaldsen. I’ve got to make a point to visit Norway to see these in person at some point before I die.

I was trying to find some Richie Hawtin videos in HD to share with all of you but, no dice. When I searched for ‘Contakt’ in Vimeo, though, this little gem came up with the soundtrack being supplied by one of my all-time favorite producers, Trentemøller. By ‘little’ I mean that it’s far too short; the credits came up just as I was getting totally sucked in. That’s OK, though – much better to create something that leaves people wanting more, right?
You can tell by his other video on Vimeo that this Joao character is a talented guy…I just hope he’s got something a little longer planned for the future.

What You See Might Not Be Real
Chen Wenling is a contemporary Chinese sculptor currently based in Beijing. The sculpture above – entitled ‘What You See Might Not Be Real’ – was created in response to the global financial crisis. The bull represents Wall Street, while the devil pinned to the wall portrays Bernard Madoff, operator of the largest ponzi scheme in history.
I love not only the imagery and subject matter Chen tackles but also the scale on which he creates it. In this case, bigger is definitely better.

”‘Non-sign II’ is an installation by Seattle based art collective lead pencil studio located at the Canada-US border near Vancouver. The sculpture is made from small stainless steel rods that are assembled together to create the negative space of a billboard. Read more at designboom.
