Pat Perry is my kind of illustrator/artist. His work is playful, trippy, strange and colorful with a generous dose of bizarre for good measure.  See more work on his website or blog.  If you’re interested in watching him work or are a fan of watching artist time-lapses you’ll definitely need to check this out, too.

Jellyfish

What’s better than watching peaceful hypnotic high-definition footage of jellyfish you ask? Watching peaceful, hypnotic high-definition footage of jellyfish expertly edited and set to a tune by Tycho.  Thanks for putting this together and sharing it with the world, Anthony...cheers!

Press +

Benjamin Ducroz‘s work combines a variety of media – in this case 3D modeling, paper, inkjet printed frames, watercolor paints, water and ink – into geometric, abstract and beautiful animations. Yes, please.

Tuba Scuba

Orion Tait, Kurt Koch and Thomas Schmid – all employees of the super-talented crew over at Buck – put this together for the Psst Pass It On series.  It’s silly, strange, bizarre and fun which, coincidentally, is just how I like it.

Peacock Display

”[A peacock’s] large train is used in mating rituals and courtship displays. It can be arched into a magnificent fan that reaches across the bird’s back and touches the ground on either side. Females are believed to choose their mates according to the size, color, and quality of these outrageous feather trains. Learn more about peacocks/peahens/peafowl on wikipedia.

Giant Beach Bubbles

Mr. Bubblesmith himself, Sterling Johnson, does his thing on Stinson Beach in California. A big thanks to Mark Day for shooting this in glorious HD for us to enjoy.  Cheers!

Mark, I am your fellow actor.

It feels very strange having the fourth-wall shattered on such an iconic image from your childhood. See eleven more excellent behind-the-scenes photos from the filming of The Empire Strikes Back over at Vanity Fair.

Science is fun!

Don’t try this at home (just watch it on the internet to save yourself the time, effort, energy and hassle).
