Loving this Clemens Habicht directed music video for Tame Impala that was filmed entirely with a 360° camera. The proceedings shift from ‘cool’ to ‘magical’ at about half-way through when night falls and the flares come out. Diggin’ the tune, too (they describe their sound as ‘psychedelic hypno-groove melodic rock’) – it’s good-times all-around friends.
P.S. Mr. Habicht also directed the ‘Skeleton Boy’ video tizmatti posted back in November.

We’re huge fans of Stones Throw and were beyond excited to find out that they’re throwing an open-to-all video contest to celebrate their 15th anniversary. The video above was submitted by Steven Smith for the J Dilla (RIP) joint, ‘Geekdown’ and we absolutely love it. Hopefully there’s lots more like it from other creative fans on the way.

Kris Kuksi is a super-talented painter/sculptor whose work is exhibited in galleries all over the world and collected by folks like Robin Williams and Guillermo del Toro. This Chris Cunningham directed video for Björk‘s 1999 single, ‘All is Full of Love’ has, “won multiple awards, including two MTV Video Music Awards for Breakthrough Video and Best Special Effects. It’s a Björk two-for Tuesday! This particular video was directed and animated by Dimitri Stankowicz (currently employed at Passion Pictures) as an entry into the official ‘Innocence’ video contest. Dimitri’s submission didn’t win – he was one of the ten runners up – but was lucky enough to be included on the official Voltaic DVD. We’re diggin’ it.

One of prize stallions in Ghost Robot‘s stable of talent, Ben Dickinson, directed this video for NewVillager, a bi-coastal art collective that creates rad stuff in lots of different mediums. This music video is a prime example of what they’re up: it combines unique costume design (all household items!), dance, performance, music and film-making into a big ball of creative expression. Their album should be out any day now and, from what I’ve been reading, it seems like their live shows are not to be missed. In other words, they’re fascinating folks we’ll be keeping our eye on.
