flight404 took one of my favorite segments from radiolab and put it to a reactive processing piece he had created years earlier. It’ll reacquaint you with just how incomprehensibly complex of a miracle our bodies are.

“You may not believe, but even we were scared at first.
It takes a lot of nerve to destroy this wondrous earth.
We’re only human; this at least we’ve learned.”
Playful and powerful stop-motion visuals directed by Alan Poon / haunting, honest and cautionary tunes by Bowerbirds.

French animation house, Mathematic, created this music video about the whimsical, peaceful, rambling journey of a black dot for two of their fellow countrymen, Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel a.k.a. Air. Ingesting this healthy dose of happy tunes and gorgeous high-definition visuals is an all-around great way to start your week. Enjoy!

Apparently Myq Kaplan was a top-five finalist on Last Comic Standing. I don’t watch that show but I’m assuming he was just as funny there as he is in the above video. Myq’s material is smart, clever and socially conscious. Oh and it has puns – glorious, glorious puns.

A good friend, Dev, sent me this video over Facebook and I knew, after only watching it for thirty seconds, that it’d be perfect right here on The Tripatorium™. It’s three-and-a-half minutes of good times.

zoomion had the fantastic idea to shoot some gorgeous hd footage of the Sahara desert and then set it to the tribal sounds of SaReGaMa. Nice.
If you’re interested in any location/technical details there’s lots to read on the video’s Vimeo page and if you want to watch ‘Sahara Wonderland’ on your fancy big screen TV then you’re in luck because zoomion was kind enough to host free, high quality downloads in both 720p and 1080p. Cheers, guys – thanks!

Codehunters was broadcast as both a standalone short film and as branding for the MTV Asia Music Video Awards by Ben Hibon and super-talented crew over at Axis Animation. It’s one of my all-time favorite animated shorts and won the Golden Nica for Computer Animation/Visual Effects in 2007. Enjoy!

“After wondering for some time whether it was possible to image the sky from one morning to the next where I live in Athens Greece, I decided to give it a try. After hours of planning and preparation, and a full day of shooting, the image above is the result of this labor of love. It took me about 12 hours to pull together and process a single image that included over 500 star trails, 35 shots of the Sun and 25 landscape pictures…more” -Chris Kotsiopoulos
