Seaweed

Lo Fi video experiment #6 from London-based filmmakers Luke White and Remi Weekes via their experimental process blog, Tell No One. It’s short, sweet and weird which is just how I like it.

Ariel

“Ariel, there was a fire in your house they say, and that your bedroom is all up in flames.
There was a fire in your house they say – they say you’ve been dancing with the devil.”

Another great release from Ninja Tune, this time from UK-based Stateless. The digital dance video (conveniently embedded in this post) was generously commissioned by Oscar & Ewan with improvisational dance duties handled by Dominic North.

You Look Familiar

Michélé De Feudis and Joris Bergmans directed/designed this colorful, bizarre and strangely poignant video for the Team William tune ‘You Look Familiar’. It’s an absolute treat that I watched a few times in quick succession so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Black Liquid

This bizarre, abstract, minimal black and white animation was created by German animator Dmitry Zakharov. Appropriate, haunting sound design by coresplittaz.

(autumn)

Tokyo-based photographer, Samuel Cockedey, shot these gorgeous time lapses around Mount Fuji, Miyajima and Iwate prefecture. The backing soundtrack is One Perfect Sunrise by Orbital & Lisa Gerrard. This one’s a stunner, enjoy!

Ankle Injuries

Wade Shotter of Factory Films created this video for Fujiya & Miyagi. I love the simple concept of a using the different faces of dice to represent the varying degrees of a value scale.

A++ Would do business again!

Hyperballad

I go through all this
Before you wake up
So I can feel happier
To be safe up here with you…

Björk is known for her consistently great music videos and this dreamy ethereal journey for Hyperballad directed by Michel Gondry is no exception.  Enjoy!

Locked in a Vegas Hotel Room with a Phantom Flex

“I was working a gig in Vegas with a brand new Phantom Flex high speed digital cinema camera. I had to try it out. In fact, I never did go to bed that night. I opened up a wormhole shooting at 2,564 frames per second.”

A big thanks goes to Jess for sending in this high speed delight from Tom Guilmette. If you want to download some clips in full 1080p head over here and snag the torrent at the bottom of the page (right above the comments).

Tasty Visuals

Here’s some hard-lined, colorful, geometric vector eye candy to snack on courtesy of UK motion designer Neal Coghlan. Equally tasty tunes by Kraak & Smack. I’m into it.
